Many designs came to mind which Jerry wanted to create.  However he really wanted something that was unique from all the rest.

Several photos of frogs were viewed in order to grab that perfect shape and style which matched Jerry’s vision of what “Gus” should look like.

Once Jerry made a decision, the image was transposed onto a Dry Erase board to trace out the outline of the frog.

As in the previous Snowman project, the same process applies.  The use 1/4" hot roll steel rods work best.

When the frames have all been bent and cut, the layout is then welded together.

The finished frame is primed and painted with an exterior spray paint.

After the completion of each of the many layouts of frogs to be used in the display, programming was the next step.

Integrating the frog into the existing songs along the animation requires a little time in calculations and timing.

The final product animation is demonstrated in the following steps.

Santa will toss a present from his sleigh, across the reindeer, and towards the chimney.

The present will miss the chimney and land on the roof and tumble to the edge.

The present lid has been opened and "Gus" is sitting in the present box, wondering what to do.

Gus decides to jump... and jump he does!  He jumps into the air landing on the roof of the neighbors home.

Once he lands, Gus is seeking a place that would provide a wet, cool place for him to rest for the night.  He notices a large Birdbath in the middle of the yard.

Gus takes another leap and lands into the birdbath, splashing all of the water out and onto the ground.
