Drawing out the Design.

The original design was provided to Jerry from a colleague that he worked with this year.  Josh Ellington had sketched out the snowman and Jerry transposed it onto the dry erase board in his workshop.

At that time Jerry used his previous skills of forming the framework for the wireframe.  The Snowmen are approximately 7 feet tall with an overall width of 6 feet.

The rope lighting used is a 3/8 inch wide commercial grade.  The rope lighting can be cut at an average length of 18 inches to assure a complete circuit.  The power leads were soldered to a section of extension cord that the female end cut off.

The use of High Temperature Glue to assure a solid seal and isolation of the wire leads.

The application of the rope lights to the wire frame is performed by the use of 4 inch wire ties.  The black UF protected ties will last for years.  The black tie does not show up when the lights are on.

Once the lights are installed, then paintings of individual sections are performed.  In some of the areas the use of paint masking tape may be required.

Transparent Glass Paint is used with a dilution of Isopropyl Alcohol as thinner.

The painted rope lighting dries within 15 minutes.  The paint will cure in 2 days if exposed to the sun.

There are eight positions for each Snowman.  Each snowman has its own controller which will also operate the snowballs that will be thrown from each unit.
